Description

The Electrotechnics Department was founded in 1962 in the same time with the foundation of the Facultaty of Electrotechnics (actually the Faculty of Electrical Engineering). The first Head of Department  was Prof. dr. Nicolae Patachi and initially the Department consisted in the following main groups of disciplines: Basics od Electrotechnics, Electrical Measurements and Electrical Drives. The title of Head of Department was confered during this period to Prof.dr. ing. Arpad Kelemen, Prof. dr. ing. Crivi Mircea, Prof. dr. ing. Mindru Gheorghe, and presently Prof. dr. ing. Emil Simion. Since 1990 the Department of Electrical Drives and Electrical Measurements cecame independent departments. Presently the Electrotechnics Department consists in 3 distinctive groups:

The Electrotechnics Department is one of the five departments of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and it trains future engineers in the following specialisations: Electrical Systems, Power Electronics and Electrical Drives, Instrumentation and Data Acquisition, Electromechanical Systems, Medical Engineering and Energetical Management. The Electrotechnics Department, offers support for the Maste of Science courses in Electrical Engineeering, at the CAD - Computer Aided Design in Electrical Engineering specialization.
